Property Maintenance

West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative’s main asset is the housing stock. It is therefore essential that it is maintained properly to ensure that the physical life of the buildings are protected.

To do this, we carry out various levels of maintenance as detailed below:

Reactive (Day to Day) Maintenance

This deals with essential repairs which cannot be left until the next routine maintenance cycle. They are dealt with as they arise.

Cyclical Maintenance

This is an ongoing plan of servicing and maintenance work to the buildings. Elements naturally decay therefore an ongoing cycle of servicing and maintenance ensures the various building components are kept in a safe and efficient working order.

Planned and Whole Life Maintenance

This is a system of programming planned replacements on a like-for-like basis.

Improvement Work

This is the provision of new features or the replacement of existing components with ones of a significantly higher standard. Improvement work is funded by grant or rent increases.

Contractors

West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative uses a variety of local building maintenance contractors. We expect our Contractors to maintain the same high standards of professionalism and customer care that we do. We use the Public Contracts Scotland website for all tenders (please click the icon above to be directed to the website).
